about

Ballads, Blues & Other Southern Anthems is a tribute to the music and musicians of Muscle Shoals, recorded with members of Cold Satellite, a band built around the collaboration between singer-songwriter Jeffrey Foucault and poet Lisa Olstein. The ablum's stellar ensemble consists of longtime collaborators Billy Conway (Morphine) on drums, Jeremy Moses Curtis (Booker T.) on bass, and Alex McCullough (Nashville session) on pedal steel, plus Jeff D'Antona (Makya McCraven) on Wurlitzer, Hammond, and piano. Contributing individual performances of great depth, the band comes together as a seamless collective through Goodrich's unique approach to melody, harmony, and form. Tracked live with everyone in the same room, the music is intimate and spacious. Originally released as a limited edition CD of 250 with handmade cover art my Matt Lorenz (Suitcase Junket), now available with two bonus tracks not included on the original release.
